Two horses have sadly died following a fire in stables on Hall Lane, Upminster.
The London Fire Brigade confirmed that six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to the blaze in the early hours of the morning.
The blaze destroyed a single-storey stable block. One horse was led to safety by a member of staff before the arrival of the Brigade.
However, two horses sadly died at the scene.
The Brigade was called at 0439, and the fire was under control by 0546.
Fire crews from Harold Hill, Hornchurch, Romford and Dagenham fire stations were at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
