A police dog, attached to the Chester & North Wales dog unit, has been acknowledged by his human colleagues after he sniffed out a driver who had fled from the police.

The incident happened on Tuesday 20th April in Conwy after officers signalled for a vehicle to stop.

Ignoring the blue lights, the vehicle’s driver made off from officers several times before deciding to decamp from his car.

The vehicle was found abandoned in a boatyard around an hour after officers lost sight of him.

PD Diesel and handler arrived on the scene and quickly began searching for the dangerous driver.

It did not take long for Diesel to find the suspect, who was hiding in a boat.

Police said that the male was subsequently arrested for ‘numerous offences’.
