Police Dog Saves Missing Dementia Patient Who Had Collapsed In A Field Suffering From Hypothermia

A police dog and his handler have been praised after the duo saved a woman’s life yesterday (16th) evening.

Police dog ‘Blaze’ and handler were called to assist patrol team officers who were trying to locate a high-risk missing person.

The female, a dementia patient, had collapsed in a field after suffering from hypothermia in cold and wet conditions.

Barely conscious, she had managed to crawl up a steep bank and into a wooded area before falling to the ground.

Once at the scene, PD ‘Blaze’ started to track the scent of the seriously ill woman, followed by his handler.

Thankfully, it did not take PD ‘Blaze’ long to find the missing female who is now being given the help she needs.

Responding to the news, one social media user commented:

‘Brilliant work PD Blaze, this shows how important these Police Dogs are, if it wasn’t for Blaze and his skills this could have turned out so differently. So well done to PD Blaze’.

Another added: ‘So many ways police dogs serve their communities.’
