A driver who fled from the police has been charged with criminal damage – amongst other offences – after ramming a police BMW during a pursuit.
The incident happened on New Year’s Eve after officers from Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit tried to pull over a Land Rover Discovery.

However, rather than stopping, the driver of the Land Rover, 26-year-old Reuben Branford of Hawthorn Street in Derby, reversed at high speed into a marked police BMW.
Thankfully, no police officers were seriously hurt.
Branford was charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop for the police, criminal damage, drink driving and failing to provide a sample of blood.
He was remanded to court.
