Avon & Somerset Police Invite Journalist Into Control Room During ‘Kill The Bill’ Protest

Avon & Somerset Police have invited a local journalist into their control room for the evening as they police the third ‘kill the bill’ protest in under seven days.

It was only last weekend when 40 police officers were injured after rioters lay siege to Bridewell Police Station.

During the riot, a journalist was also injured by the mob as police vehicles and police property was damaged (the cost of repair will be picked up by local taxpayers).

Ellie Pipe, a reporter with Bristol 24/7, has spent the evening in the ‘silver’ command room where the policing operation for tonight’s protest will be managed.
