A 12-year-old boy has been arrested after he was found to be in possession of a kitchen knife and drugs.
Officer’s from the Met’s Territorial Support Group (TSG) had been carrying out pro-active, intelligence-led stop and searches in Tower Hamlets yesterday afternoon.
The male was stopped on St. Pauls Way and was informed by officers that he would be searched.
Officers then found a large kitchen knife as well as some drugs on the youth.
He was arrested and taken to a local police station. The officers shared a picture of the knife to highlight the worrying trend of youths carrying knives on our streets.
Commenting on the tweet, one Twitter user said: ’12 years old? When I was 12, I carried a catapult and a bag of sweets, not a knife and weed. I hope that the kid gets put back onto the straight and narrow; he’s too young to spiral down into a life of crime’.
Another added: ‘Great job; now strong intervention to find out why and prevent him from re-offending before he becomes a statistic either being stabbed or the one stabbing’.
